Role and Responsibilities:

  • Supports regional teams with related business development activities
  • Develops conceptual designs for water and wastewater treatment electrical power distribution, standby power generation, motor starting and lighting systems
  • Develops detailed designs for water and wastewater treatment power distribution, standby power generation, motor starting and lighting systems
  • Develops one-line diagrams and power plans
  • Coordinates with process mechanical team for process control coordination
  • Prepares design calculations, coordinating with other support discipline activities on projects, coordinating with regional company offices and regulating agencies, construction cost estimating, and quality assurance and control
  • Manages and mentors teams, coordinating schedules, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products which adhere to company standardization
  • Attends client meetings, industry conferences, and serves as a subject matter expert for the Water Business Line

In addition, the Electrical Group Leader will be responsible for:

  • Recruiting top talent for the electrical team Developing scope, schedule, level of effort, and fees for projects
  • Managing, mentoring and professional development for electrical team members
  • Driving the detailed design through coordination with other design disciplines
  • Planning, managing, and executing electrical staff and workload
  • Developing detailed plans and specifications
  • Coordinating and maintaining project schedules Planning and monitoring budgets
  • Providing quality program compliance, including ensuring delivery of quality work products that adhere to company standardization.
  • Electrical standards and tools development, procurement, and training

Minimum Requirements:

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license or with the ability to be licensed
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program 10+ years of technical related experience with 2+ years of experience in project/team leadership

Preferred Attributes:

  • Technically competent in electrical engineering design including controls, instrumentation, SCADA systems, and power distribution systems
  • 15+ years of electrical engineering design experience with 5+ years of experience in project/ team leadership
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license in several states including SC, NC, GA, TN, FL, AL
  • Working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment plant systems
  • Working knowledge of remote telemetry systems
  • Working knowledge of SCADA network communications
  • Proven experience overseeing electrical and I&C designs, including detailed plans and specifications for major projects
  • Working knowledge of PLC and HMI programming software including:
    • Allen-Bradley RSLogix
    • GE iFix
    • Schneider Electric Wonderware
    • Inductive Automation Ignition
    • Master’s degree in electrical engineering ISA Automation Professional certification
    • Working knowledge of AutoCad and/or Revit CAD programs
    • Working knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 820
